Ages 8 - 18

Level I

Ballet I introduces our beginning students to the structure of a ballet technique class. The class begins with conditioning, strengthening, and stretching exercises to help students use, and isolate, certain muscle groups pertaining to dance. Students will be introduced to ballet barre exercises, which will expand the articulation of foundational steps, placement, and alignment. Class etiquette practice and expectations are an important component of this level. This level also focuses on musicality. Small jumps and exercises across the floor are practiced to build strength and endurance.

Level III

Ballet III introduces our beginning students to the structure of a ballet technique class. The class begins with conditioning, strengthening and stretching exercises to help students use, and isolate, certain muscle groups pertaining to dance. Students will be introduced to ballet barre exercises, which will expand the articulation of foundational steps, placement, and alignment. Class etiquette practice and expectations are an important component of this level. This level also focuses on musicality. Small jumps and exercises across the floor are practiced to build strength and endurance.

Level II

Ballet II requires a minimum of 2 years prior ballet experience. Students will expand their ballet vocabulary, barre work, and flexibility and strength training. Emphasis will be placed on proper body alignment and placement. Classwork will focus on classical ballet technique through a professional class progression. Barre work, center, and across the floor exercises are designed to better technique, as well as performance quality and confidence. Additional classes such as Contemporary Movement, Pilates, and International Latin may be added for Intermediate Students with Instructor approval.

Advanced
Pre-Professional

Pre-Professional classes are for the advanced ballet student. Only those who have a strong mastery of pointe work and a desire to pursue ballet seriously will be admitted. Discipline and commitment are emphasized as part of class participation. This class will pay attention to fine details, use of the upper body, breadth of movement and expression, as well as an increasingly advanced repertory of ballet technique. This class meets five days a week, with the option to meet for a sixth lesson each week. In addition to Ballet, Pre Professional students are required to take Advanced Modern, Pointe, and Variations. In this level, students are required to add additional classes to increase their skills in partnering, strengthen their core, increase flexibility, and round out their movement vocabulary. Today’s professional dancers must be well-rounded to succeed in auditions, attract career opportunities, and possess the skills necessary to master the contemporary repertoires performed by all current professional companies. Placement through audition or instructor approval.
